Text Alerts are Now an Option - Sign-up Required

Over the summer our alert messaging service was upgrade to a new system, School Messenger. With the new system comes the options to send out text alerts, in the past we've only had the option for phone calls and/or email messages. It's a federal requirement for texting services to "opt in" for the alerts, we simply can't turn it on and have it start texting every parent in the district.

To opt in just text "yes" to 67587 - it's that easy.

Throughout the week we will be sending home fliers and email messages reminding parents and guardians to sign-up for this service. On Friday, 9/22/2017, if you haven't already signed up for the service you will get a one time only text message asking if you want to opt in. The text message will look something like this:

Hoosic Valley messages. Reply Y to confirm, HELP 4 info.
Msg & data rates may apply. Msg freq varies. schoolmessenger.com/t

Important Requirement: In order to receive text messages from our calling system, we must have your cell phone on file. Please make sure you've updated your contact information for this school year, if you've changed cell numbers or have not listed your cell phone on the student demographic sheets at the beginning of the year please notify the main office in the elementary school or the guidance office in the High School.

You can sign up for the service but if your numbers not in our service your will not get alerts.
